When you want to install countertops for your residential or commercial property in New York City, there are four different countertops that are the most suitable. These countertops include marble, quartzite, granite, and quartz. Each of them has their own unique qualities and they go marvelously in kitchens, bathrooms, bars, or anywhere else that needs a sturdy and aesthetically pleasing countertop. The one you choose is really a matter of preference.

Granite is a type of rock that is formed from molten lava. It has a sandy granular texture to it with a variety of patterns. As a countertop, it is durable as long as it is sealed properly. That is why you should only purchase granite countertops from a professional supplier like us. Most people love granite countertops because they look beautiful and are in high demand from home buyers and tenants. You will get a much longer lifespan out of granite than you would with a softer countertop material like marble.

Marble rocks are known for their various colors and shades. Its colors have a very earthy look to them as white, black, and grey colors are blended in many different ways. You may find marble patterns with more white than black and vice versa. You will never find one piece of marble that has exactly the same pattern as another piece. This metamorphic rock comes from limestone that is subjected to extremely hot conditions and pressure. There is mostly calcite in marble, but there may be traces of other minerals too. Some include graphite, clay, iron oxides, micas, pyrite, and quartz. The most famous designers in New York City tend to use Calacatta White marble because of its natural beauty, it does tend to be very expensive.

Quartz stone is what is referred to as an engineered stone. Rather than being a metamorphic rock that was formed from intense heat and pressure, quartz is a synthetic material that is manufactured in a factory. You will find lots of different materials in quarts, such as pigments, stone chips, and resins. Because of their synthetic nature, they stay 99.9% free of bacteria and are easier to clean stains from. They are even more durable than granite. Quartz countertops are trying to make their stones look like Calacatta or Carrara Marble so the client can use it instead of the expensive marble.

Quartzite countertops are created through the use of tectonic compression on sandstone, which subjects it to intense heat and pressure. The main difference in terms of quality between Quartz stone and Quartzite stone is its durability. Although quartz is already hard, Quartzite stone is harder than it as well as granite. There is no plastic resin used in manufacturing Quartzite stone like there is with quartz. People who typically place very hot items on their countertops will want to use Quartzite stone. Otherwise, anything over 300°F will melt the resin of quartz.
